FEB Unila – Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of the University of Lampung (Unila) held a Visiting Scholar event with the theme “Research and Publication Capacity Development”. The event took place in Room D101 of the FEB Unila Building on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Present as the main speaker at the forum was Professor Budy P. Resosudarmo from the (ANU) Indonesia Project. His presence aimed to provide new perspectives on research governance within the higher education environment.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Ernie Hendrawaty, S.E., M.Si. In her remarks, she expressed gratitude for the speaker’s willingness to share his experience at FEB Unila.
“We highly appreciate and feel honored by his presence at FEB Unila. This momentum is invaluable for conducting a sharing session regarding strategies for developing research capacity and publications,” she stated.
Entering the core session, Prof. Budy highlighted fundamental aspects of the research funding ecosystem. He emphasized the importance of diversifying funding sources to avoid reliance solely on internal campus funds.
“We cannot expect to advance in the field of research if we rely solely on student tuition. Support must come from the government and philanthropic channels. Considering that many other top universities have done the same to sustain their research progress,” explained Prof. Budy.
Through this Visiting Scholar activity, FEB Unila hopes to open new insights regarding professional research governance, while simultaneously encouraging international collaboration that impacts the enhancement of the institution’s accreditation and reputation. (Magang_Ghatan)
