Intensify Financial Literacy FEB Together with PT Pegadaian Hold a Smart Financial Seminar

FEB Unila | Provide knowledge to students about the importance of investing, PT. Pegadaian Persero together with the Faculty of Economics and Business held a Smart Financial Public Lecture for the Smart Generation. This activity was held at the FEB Unila Student Center on Monday (30/09/2024).

The Public Lecture was opened directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Dr Nairobi, also present were Deputy Deans, study program leaders and lecturers within FEB Unila. Apart from that, the Vice President of PT. Pegadaian Firman Alghazalo and Manager PT. Pegadaian Herdika Isanto Putra was the resource person at this public lecture.

In his speech, Prof. Nairobi said, “This activity is very good for providing motivation to students of the Faculty of Economics and Business. Namely knowledge about increasing financial literacy in investing,” he said. Meanwhile, the Vice President of Pegadaian said that the rise of online loans and online gambling has influenced the younger generation to reduce their interest in investing, this could threaten the future of the young generation in the era of the Millennial and Gen Z generations. Furthermore, the Vice President of Pegadaian hopes that this Public Lecture can provide experience to students regarding the importance of investing and managing future finances in preparing themselves as Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045.

The participants in this Public Lecture are students from various study programs within FEB Unila. Herdika Isanto explained in his material that there are various investment products for financial planning, one of which is gold. Gold is an investment product that has a high level of liquidity. Therefore, gold can be used as a source of emergency funds because it has a high level of liquidity or is easy to disburse.
