FEB Unila<\/strong> \u2013 Three students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Lampung (FEB Unila), were selected to represent the university in the international Asian Cooperative Program (ACP) 2026 titled \u201cBeyond Recovery: Building Inclusive Resilience Through Institutional Reform and Community Innovation.\u201d<\/em> The short course program was hosted by Kansai University of International Studies (KUIS), Japan, from January 31 to February 20, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation consisted of Syfa’ul Azkia Prita (Management Undergraduate Program 2024), Siti Zahra Maulidya (Accounting Undergraduate Program 2024), and Nadiyah Putri Mailika (Management Undergraduate Program 2024). During their time in Japan, they explored human resource development for disaster management in Southeast Asia, with a focus on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) at the household, community, and workplace levels. The students were also given the opportunity to directly experience disaster prevention and response technologies implemented in Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most memorable agendas for the team was a visit to the Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution to learn about the history of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. At the site, they interacted with survivors, observed post-disaster artifacts, and examined Japan\u2019s transformation from reactive emergency management to preparedness-based risk governance. This experience provided profound insights into the importance of integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in building inclusive community resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCollaborating with international students was an exciting experience because we were able to exchange perspectives on disaster management practices in our respective countries. We tried to draw conclusions from other countries\u2019 strengths to address gaps in our own, such as the idea of a Smart Disaster Prevention Necklace for Seniors and a Hybrid Community Digital Storytelling network to reduce misinformation during emergencies,\u201d said Syfa’ul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She further emphasized, \u201cIt is crucial for students in Indonesia to be visionary and disciplined. In Japan, even the smallest details are carefully planned, such as the provision of survival equipment and adequate sanitation facilities to face disasters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hiroko Fukushima from the International Office of KUIS also expressed her appreciation in a written statement. \u201cWe are delighted to welcome the students from Universitas Lampung and will continue to support them to ensure this program becomes a meaningful and rewarding experience,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This achievement once again highlights the active role of FEB Unila students in delivering innovative solutions to global issues, particularly in the area of sustainable development. Syfa\u2019ul hopes that this experience will inspire her fellow students on campus. \u201cTo my friends at FEB Unila, do not be afraid to try new things, including participating in international programs. There will always be valuable lessons and new perspectives gained from stepping outside your comfort zone,\u201d she concluded.
