This event was officially opened by the Chancellor of the University of Lampung, accompanied by the Chancellor of UiTM Cawangan Selangor, who emphasized the importance of international collaboration in facing the ongoing technological revolution. In his speech, the Chancellor of Unila highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of the global economy, as well as the opportunities and challenges that arise in the world of business and entrepreneurship due to the rapid development of AI technology.

This conference succeeded in attracting 83 international presenters from various countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey, Romania and the UK. The keynote speakers came from leading institutions in Germany, the Netherlands, Malaysia and Indonesia, providing a global perspective on the impact of artificial intelligence on various sectors, from manufacturing, finance, education to health.

These keynote presentations cover topics such as the use of AI in business decision making, automation in supply chains, and how AI is being used to increase efficiency in the services sector. One of the important highlights of ICEBE 7 was the publication of scientific articles presented during the conference.

All papers that pass the strict selection will be published in international proceedings published by EUDL (European Union Digital Library). In addition, selected papers will be published in highly reputable journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, making significant contributions to the global literature on economics, business and artificial intelligence. This shows the organizers’ commitment to supporting the quality of academic research and disseminating the latest knowledge in this field.

Not only a place for paper presentations, the 7th ICEBE is also an important platform for academics, researchers, business practitioners and policy makers to network and share innovative ideas. Through panel discussions, workshops and question and answer sessions, participants had the opportunity to interact directly with leading experts, as well as gain new insights into global trends in the use of artificial intelligence. The conference also provides an opportunity for participants to explore further research and development collaboration in the future, particularly in areas related to AI and its impact on the economy and business.

Apart from that, this conference also saw the signing of an Implementation Agreement between the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Lampung and the Accounting Research Institute UiTM, which marked the commitment of both institutions to organize ICEBE 2024 together. This agreement is a concrete step in strengthening international partnerships between the two universities, as well as opening up opportunities for collaboration in the broader fields of research, publication and academic development.

ICEBE 2024 is expected to be a larger and more significant platform, with themes that remain focused on future challenges, especially those related to technological innovations such as AI. With this collaboration, both universities are committed to continuing to contribute to the development of knowledge and practical applications in the world of business and the global economy. Overall, the 7th ICEBE was not only successful as an academic forum, but also as a catalyst in developing cross-country collaboration. This conference shows how universities can play a key role in bridging the gap between theory and practice, and preparing students and academics to face increasingly complex global challenges, especially in a digital era full of technological disruption.
