History<\/h1>

The history of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Lampung (FEB Unila)<\/strong> dates back to 1960<\/strong>, when the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Law were established as part of the Lampung Branch of Sriwijaya University (Universitas Sriwijaya)<\/strong>. The Lampung Branch was led by a coordinating body chaired by Zainal Abidin Pagar Alam<\/strong>, who at the time served as Mayor of Tanjungkarang\u2013Telukbetung. Nadirsyah Zaini, M.A.<\/strong> served as Secretary of the Coordinator, while Hilman Hadikusuma<\/strong> served as Head of the Secretariat and Alhusniduki Hamim<\/strong> as Acting Deputy Head of the Secretariat.<\/p>

In early 1961<\/strong>, the Faculty of Economics of the Lampung Branch of Sriwijaya University was led by Drs. Moersalin<\/strong> as Head of Faculty, with Nadirsyah Zaini, M.A.<\/strong> as Secretary. In 1962<\/strong>, Drs. Moersalin continued to serve as Head of Faculty, while Drs. Paul Sitohang<\/strong> served as Acting Secretary. During the same year, two departments were established: the Department of General Economics<\/strong>, chaired by Nadirsyah Zaini, M.A., and the Department of Business Economics<\/strong>, chaired by Drs. Moersalin.<\/p>

In 1963<\/strong>, another change in leadership took place following the appointment of Drs. Subki E. Harun<\/strong>, an economics graduate of Gadjah Mada University, as a permanent lecturer. At that time, Drs. Moersalin served as an extraordinary lecturer while also holding the position of Head of the Sriwijaya Raya Bank Branch in Telukbetung. Drs. Paul Sitohang<\/strong> subsequently served as Head of Faculty, with Drs. Subki E. Harun<\/strong> as Secretary.<\/p>

A major milestone in the history of the institution occurred on September 23, 1965<\/strong>, when the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science No. 195<\/strong> formally established Universitas Lampung (Unila)<\/strong>, comprising, among others, the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Law. The establishment of Universitas Lampung was subsequently confirmed through Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia No. 73 of 1966<\/strong>, dated April 6, 1966<\/strong>.<\/p>

Institutional Development<\/h3>

As the oldest faculty at Universitas Lampung, the Faculty of Economics has continuously evolved in response to developments in higher education, economics, business, and society.<\/p>

Based on Rector’s Decree No. 03\/UN26\/DT\/2011<\/strong>, dated December 30, 2011, the Faculty of Economics was renamed the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Lampung (FEB Unila)<\/strong>. This change was subsequently formalized through Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 072 of 2014<\/strong> concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Universitas Lampung.<\/p>

Over the years, FEB Unila has expanded its academic portfolio and strengthened the quality of its educational programs. The Faculty currently encompasses undergraduate, graduate, professional, and vocational education across the fields of economics, business, accounting, management, and related disciplines.<\/p>

FEB Unila has also achieved significant milestones in academic quality assurance and accreditation. Its academic programs have received strong accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT)<\/strong>. The Faculty was also among the first units at Universitas Lampung to obtain ISO 9001:2008 certification from UKAS<\/strong>, reflecting its commitment to quality management and continuous improvement.<\/p>

Graduate and Professional Education<\/h3>

In 2000<\/strong>, FEB Unila established the Master of Management (MM)<\/strong> program. The program became one of the prominent graduate programs in management outside Java and received an A accreditation<\/strong> from BAN-PT. It also obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification from UKAS.<\/p>

In 2012<\/strong>, FEB Unila further expanded its graduate education through the establishment of the Master of Science in Accounting<\/strong> and Master of Economics<\/strong> programs, which subsequently received B accreditation<\/strong>.<\/p>

In addition to its undergraduate and master’s programs, FEB Unila offers a Professional Accounting Program<\/strong> and several vocational programs<\/strong>, including:<\/p>

  • Diploma III in Accounting<\/p><\/li>

  • Diploma III in Taxation<\/p><\/li>

  • Diploma III in Finance and Banking<\/p><\/li>

  • Diploma III in Marketing<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    A further milestone was achieved in 2014<\/strong>, when the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture, through Letter No. 76\/E.E2\/DT\/2014 dated January 28, 2014<\/strong>, granted Universitas Lampung a mandate to establish a Doctoral Program in Economics<\/strong>.<\/p>

    Internationalization<\/h3>

    FEB Unila continues to strengthen its international orientation and global academic engagement. Since August 2013<\/strong>, the Faculty has been a member of ABEST21 (The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow)<\/strong>, an international accreditation and quality assurance organization for business schools based in Tokyo, Japan.<\/p>

    As part of its internationalization strategy, FEB Unila has undertaken various initiatives, including the development of an International Bilingual Class Program<\/strong> and the establishment of the Soft Skills Development Center<\/strong>. These initiatives are designed to enhance students’ global competencies, communication skills, professional capabilities, and readiness to compete in an increasingly interconnected world.<\/p>

    The Faculty has also developed international academic collaboration through partnerships with overseas universities and institutions. These collaborations include 1+1 study programs, overseas study opportunities, and student and staff exchange programs<\/strong>, providing members of the FEB Unila academic community with opportunities to gain international exposure and experience.<\/p>

    Continuing the Legacy<\/h3>

    Throughout its history, the development of FEB Unila has been inseparable from the dedication and leadership of its academic and administrative leaders. The institution’s leadership was initially represented by the Head of Faculty (Ketua Fakultas)<\/strong> and, following the establishment of Universitas Lampung, continued under the leadership of the Dean<\/strong>.<\/p>

    From its origins as part of the Lampung Branch of Sriwijaya University in the early 1960s to its present role as the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Lampung<\/strong>, FEB Unila has continued to evolve while preserving its commitment to academic excellence, professional development, research, innovation, and service to society.<\/p>
